January 19th, 2021 Sapulpa City Council Meeting

Note: Mask Mandate was not on the agenda the night of January 19th, 2021.

My Public comment on January 19th, 2021

“My name is Tori Williams and my address is ________________ In Sapulpa.

You may remember 6 months ago I stood here emphasizing that a mask mandate was not the best way to support the health of the people of Sapulpa, and that mask usage does and will contribute to various health problems in many individuals. Myself and countless others have stood here at this podium and we have sent countless emails, many valid points have been presented to each of you; asking then begging each of you, to make wise decisions considering the science available as well as to use critical thinking skills, and to honor the US constitution by not voting in harmful mask mandate.

Thank you to the 3 council members who have voted no, who have voted against the mask mandate all 3 opportunities thus far.

Those you who have voted yes in favor of mandating masks are in violation of the Oath you took when becoming a City Councilor.

The oath states “I solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of the State of Oklahoma”

The first amendment to the US constitution states Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

My public comment made on November 16th was very clear, to me, putting a mask on my face would be denying God in Heaven and that I will not do. My healing comes from God, I fear no man and no virus and I am healthy praise Jesus, I speak on behalf of many in this regard, I am not the only Bible believing scripture reading God fearing person and each of our religious freedoms are protected by the US constitution.

How many citizens of Sapulpa have conveyed, that you need to uphold the constitution and not impose a mask mandate, yet the vote of the majority of the council was to impose a mask mandate anyway, then most recently extended another 120 days by John Suggs. By the way, I live in ward 1.

I ask that each of you please read the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the State of Oklahoma.

I know each of you are volunteering your time & energy, and I respect and am thankful for each of you, but I do expect that each of you will honor and be true the oath you took.

I ask that you, Mayor Henderson, please consider doing whatever is necessary to put an immediate end to the proclamation that implements a mandate in the City of Sapulpa as soon as possible. To mandate that the citizens of Sapulpa cover their mouth and nose at all times when out of their houses and that we all stand 6 feet apart is absolutely ridiculous, it’s harmful to all of us, and it needs to end now.

I also bought you a copy of this book that cites more medical studies than I am able to print and present in a timely manner (the case against masks, why mask usage should be limited), & a copy of the Us Constitution. Thank you so much for your time today.”
